I really enjoyed this challenging commission. A lovely colleague of mine wanted a house-warming gift for her father, who had purchased and was renovating this beautiful cottage.
She provided me with several photographs of the cottage (including one in the snow from a few years ago), and I also went to Bedfordshire too see it for my self and get a sense of the surrounds.
I really like how the light came out in the surrounding trees and on the snowy foreground.
Size: 60 x 45cm (24 x 18inch)
Materials: High-quality Old Holland oil pigments, Winsor & Newton Oil Color Medium, and a stretched cotton box canvas.
