Warboys Train

120 x 100cm Impasto Oil on Canvas

Commissioned and Sold

The last painting in my commissioned series of scenes in and around Warboys village, near Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, UK.

During the Second World War, the airstrip outside of Warboys was a key bomber base, and munitions for the bombers were delivered by train to the village.

This painting was commissioned to reimagine what the train might have looked like coming into the Warboys station by Puddock Hill, which has vanished decades ago and only the bridge which crossed the railway remains.

Size: 120 x 100cm (47 x 40inch)

Materials: High-quality Old Holland oil pigments, Winsor & Newton Oil Color Medium, and a Cotton Deep Edge Canvas.
