​Painted from memory, this is Winter how I like it! :)

A couple of years ago, we visited my father who still lives in Tychy, Poland, where I grew up. There is a lake on the outskirts of the town where we love to go walking with our dog, and it is surrounded on 3 sides by beautiful woods which are criss-crossed with ditches and canals.
​
We always go walking in these woods when we visit, but my favourite time must be when everything was covered in February snow. I can still see the sunlight streaming through the gaps in the trees around the canals, making the snow-capped grasses and branches shimmer. :)

Materials: High-quality Old Holland and Charvin oil pigments, Winsor & Newton oil colour medium and impasto, on a mounted, bleached cotton canvas, 3.8cm deep.
