The Sheep of Skye
76 x 76cm Impasto Oil on Canvas
Original available
£450
The 3rd painting in my Scottish Highlands series (of 2021, just in case there will be others :) ), the Sheep of Skye were inspired by the steep hills of the Isle of Skye, which overlooked us for a few days during our stay in Glenelg, just across the sea (Kyle Rhea) from the Isle.
I was fascinated by the remotest locations in which we encountered flocks of sheep, quietly enjoying those stunning hillsides and remote valleys. I wanted to capture them, as well as the beautiful, contrasting light each time the sunshine pierced the rain clouds up there.
Size: 76 x 76cm (30 x 30inch)
Materials: High-quality Old Holland oil pigments, Winsor & Newton oil color medium, and a deep edge cotton canvas.
The original painting is available for sale so if you are interested, or if you would like to discuss commissioning a similar work, please get in touch via the contact form.
